Ninjas, let’s save the planet.
Greetings, Ninja!

It’s America Recycles Day! And just like every day, we’re separating paper from plastics and rinsing out the jar of almond butter before tossing it in the color-coded bin. But our over-achieving Ninja brain has us wondering, “How can we do more?”

Recycling is an excellent place to start, but every workplace (remote teams included!) can make an even bigger contribution — especially in the Reduce and Reuse departments. In that spirit, we’ve created a list of totally doable strategies and unique tech-forward solutions that will help keep your company’s conservation efforts out of the red.

Rock on!

P.S. We’ll be off next Thursday for Thanksgiving, but will return November 29. We hope you have a wonderful holiday, and THANK YOU for being a part of the OfficeNinjas community!

Workers must hand-sort (and discard) unacceptable waste that was incorrectly recycled.
Ninja Challenge: New Ways to Make Your Office More Sustainable
Though a company recycling program is the crucial first step, enduring sustainability comes from long-term solutions woven into the fabric of the company. It’s not as daunting as it sounds. A recent boom in start-ups specializing in sustainable products and services for offices means your company can step it up in 2019. We’ve compiled a list of options to help you get started.

How (and Why) to Make Your Office More Eco-Friendly
WeWork knows a thing or two about saving energy in office spaces — they manage more than 10 million square feet of offices across 23 countries. So when they say small changes make the biggest impact, we believe them! Try switching to 100% recyclable binders, maintaining a virtual (instead of paper-covered) bulletin board, and turning off energy guzzling printers and copiers at night for an even more eco-efficient workplace.

Is Telecommuting as Green As You Think?
Remote workers, you’re killing it on the auto-pollution front by skipping that daily commute — but working from home has its own eco-challenges. Heating, cooling, and lighting a whole house all day, every day can easily lead you to use more energy than your office-bound counterparts. Luckily, a few simple adjustments will put you back in the green.

Inspired to make your office eco-efficient? Swapping your single-use cans and bottles for a Bevi machine will dramatically cut waste and save you a lot of time. (Say goodbye to restocking the fridge, placing beverage orders, and emptying overflowing recycling bins.) Bevi’s smart water dispenser provides custom refreshing drinks all day long, without generating a single ounce of plastic. And since its inception, Bevi has saved over 51 million plastic bottles and cans from entering the landfill!
