Bad habits die hard…
Bad habits die hard…
Greetings, Ninja!

Unpopular opinion: willpower is for suckers.

Seriously. To demonstrate willpower is to struggle against the very thing that your brain wants to do. Repeatedly. You resist the urge to surf the Web instead of finishing your expense report. You reach for a salad when you’re craving a burger. You bite your tongue when you’d like to make a snide remark.

Everyday, you resist temptation after temptation. Yet growing research shows that resisting repeated temptations takes a mental toll. In fact, some experts liken willpower to a muscle that can get fatigued from overuse, which results in diminishing returns.

Want to quit bad habits, create healthy new ones, and live your #BestLife? There’s more than one way to be mindful. Take a look at your environment. Making changes — big and small — to the world around you is much easier than mustering willpower.

So, just this once, go ahead and take the easy way out.

Power on!
